Matina Charkoftaki grew up in Heraklion, Crete and has been a journalist for the last 12 years. She studied at the Department of International and European Studies at Panteion University from which she subsequently obtained a master's degree in Economics. Her career in business reporting began in 2012 when she joined the stock market channel SBC TV where she worked for six years. She then worked at Boussias CommunicationsFOODReporter and Build as well as the Business Daily news website. Today she is a member of the team of Capital.gr and Kefalaio newspaper and at the same time writes for the Greek edition of Forbes magazine.

Ζερβάκης Εμμανουήλ, President Hellenic Emerging Technologies Industry Association (HETiA) and Chief Business Officer ES Systems

Emmanuel Zervakis was born in Athens, Greece in 1975. He received both the Bachelor degree in Physics and the Master degree in microelectronics from University of Patras in 1997 and 1999, respectively. He received the PhD in 2004 from National Technical University of Athens, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. During his PhD, he designed signal conditioning electronics for solid state detectors for High Energy Physics Experiments. He worked from 2001 up to 2004 to THETA Microelectronics as a Junior integrated circuits designer. He participated in all projects of the company designing both baseband and radio frequency analog circuits introduced to the new transceiver architectures targeting modern wireless communications. He joined THEON Sensors early in 2005 as a Senior Electrical Engineer in the MEMS department and from 2008 he became Electronics Development Manager. His main activities included designing and development of analog and mixed analog/digital integrated circuits and PCB’s for the signal conditioning electronics of the MEMS transducers. He participated either as Project Manager or Technical Leader to various ESA, FP7 and National Funded projects that were successfully implemented. In 2010 became Director of the MEMS Business Unit of THEON Sensors S.A. Dr. Em. Zervakis became the General Manager of European Sensor Systems S.A in 2013, a high tech company developing sensors systems based on MEMS technologies targeting medical, industrial and aerospace applications. At 2018 became Chief Operating Officer of ES Systems and since 2021 he is the Chief Business Officer. He is responsible for corporate strategy, new technologies and business development. Since 2012, he is BoD member of the Hellenic Association of Space Industry (HASI) and since 2016 President of the Hellenic Emerging Technologies Industry Association (HETIA).

Μπακόλιας Μπάμπης, Director and General Manager Ansys Hellas

Dr. Babis Bakolias is Director and General Manager at ANSYS Hellas. ANSYS is the global leader of pervasive simulation technologies, a member of S&P500 and Nasdaq-100. Prior to ANSYS and since 2010, Babis worked as General Manager at Helic S.A., a Greek, US-headquartered R&D company producing simulation software for the global semiconductor market. Before Helic, he worked primarily in R&D product development roles, both as scientist and manager, in London, Cambridge and Athens. Babis holds a BSc in Physics, a MSc in Optoelectronics from Queens University Belfast, a PhD in Machine Vision from Imperial College London and an MBA from Athens University of Business and Economics.

Κικίδης Γιάννης, Program Manager Renesas Electronics

John Kikidis is a senior professional, experienced technology executive, co-founder and entrepreneur in technology innovative startups, with thirty years of business experience in software, electronics and semiconductor industries. He is currently Program Manager at Renesas Electronics Corporation and co-founder and Chairman at Eyelead Software, a University of Patras spin-off, in 3D visualization software technology and applications. He is also member at the board of directors in the Hellenic Emerging Technologies Industry Association (HETIA) and at Orange Grove. Before joining Renesas Electronics Corporation in 2015, he was Product Development Director at the Citrix R&D Center at Patras, Greece for about 2 years, CEO at Analogies, a University of Patras spin-off for 7 years, and prior to that served for about 7 years at Intel Corporation in a number of engineering, marketing and management roles, with the latest as Strategic Marketing Manager at Optical-Networking Components Division, Communications Infrastructure Group. He was Business Development Manager for GiGA Hellas, a GiGA A/S subsidiary company, driving the establishment of the Greek site as GiGA A/S’ systems engineering design center for reference designs. He came in to GiGa Hellas when GiGA A/S acquired in 1999, his first startup that he co-founded back in 1992, Synergy Systems SA. He received his Diploma in Electrical Engineering, in 1990, from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Patras, Greece. He is an inventor in a number of patents and author to a number of referred and invited publications.

Δημητρόπουλος Γιώργος, Director Adveos

George Dimitropoulos has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor and consumer electronics industry, ranging from small startups and mid-sized companies to multinational corporations. Mr. Dimitropoulos is currently holding the position of Director in Adveos, a fabless semiconductor company which specializes in the development of wireless connectivity solutions. Mr. Dimitropoulos business background in multi-cultural and international environments and his broad knowledge of silicon ecosystems and market trends enabled him to co-found and drive Adveos to a substantial growth which led to the company’s acquisition by the Chinese multinational Beken Corporation in 2020. Prior to co-founding Adveos, Mr. Dimitropoulos held various engineering and management positions at Nortel Networks (UK), Bookham Technology (UK), Theon Sensors (Greece) and Crystal Audio (Greece / China). Throughout his professional career, he has been involved in the product development of semiconductor components and electronic devices for the optical communications and consumer electronics industry and he has significant project management experience in technology and process transfers for foundry locations as well as low-cost manufacturing locations in SE Asia. Mr. Dimitropoulos holds a BSc degree in Physics from the University of Patras, Greece, an MSc degree in Optoelectronics from the Essex University, UK and an MBA degree from the Aston Business School, UK.

Σταμούλης Ιάκωβος, Product Development Director, Think Silicon, An Applied Materials company

Iakovos has over 20 years of experience in the Computer Graphics and Semiconductor industry. As CTO of Think Silicon, he builds multidisciplinary teams codesigning HW and SW that deliver Ultra Low power Graphics Processors to market. He has a strong technology track record in bringing new technology innovation from concept to implementation and subsequently to commercial products. He has worked for Advanced Rendering Technology in the UK and USA, where he co-engineered the first Ray Tracing Graphics Engine chip and in Greece where he successfully led teams of engineers in Atmel's Multimedia and Communication Business Unit to the tape out of numerous devices that reached mass production in the multimedia and wireless markets. He has a D.Phil from the Centre for VLSI and Computer Graphics of the University of Sussex, UK and is a member of IEEE since 1996.

Παγκράτης Πάνος, Senior Manager, u-blox Athens

Panos Pagratis was born in Corfu, Greece in 1979. He moved in Patras in 1998 for studies where he received his Bachelor in Electrical Engineering from Technological Institute of Patras and then on 2005 his MSc in Informatics for Life Sciences from University of Patras. He worked for 2 years as embedded software engineer for ATMEL Hellas in Patras site. In 2004, together with four other friends and MSc students of University of Patras, has established ANTCOR in Patras Science Park. ANTCOR was startup in the embedded engineering industry, offering operating systems for outdoor wireless systems. In 2006 ANTCOR got a fundraising from Attica Venture Capital and moved in Athens for executing the new business plan and growing further its operations with Mr. Panos Pagratis taking over the role of COO. On 2014 Antcor was acquired by u-blox with Mr. Panos Pagratis taking over the role of the HR and Site Manager of u-blox Athens, and from 2020 also the role of HR Manager of u-blox Short range radio business.
